Nicolas and The Saints album launch with guests Laish + Ellie Ford
August 2 @ 7:00 pm - August 3 @ 12:00 am
Nicolas and the Saints are launching their long-awaited album ‘Goodbye to Brighton’.
The band will play the record in full. Expect volleys of rap over infinite feedback delay, smokey bar ballads and half-time punk. A sprawling diaspora of jazz, blues, hip-hop and rock set to literary lyrics and a Waitsian growl, occasionally softened to a tone like “molasses over hot coals” (1BrightonFM).
With support from:
LAISH
“One of the best songwriters of his generation inside and outside of British borders.” 7.5/10 – Ondarock
Honest, self-reflective songs and stunning live performances, sung with a distinctive, plaintive tenor. Gentle fingerpicked acoustic ballads and robust art rock jams about relationships failed and survived.
Laish’s latest album - Pendulum Swing - came out last year on respected French label Talitres.

ELLIE FORD
“A captivating writer penning ethereal and intoxicating music” - Louder Than War
Ellie Ford’s (harp and vocals) mix of classical instrumentation with modern songwriting gives her an edge and variation that cements her uniqueness in the alt-folk world. An arresting solo performer, Ford’s sultry vocal complements her uniquely expressive, percussive harp playing.
“The Other Sun [Ford’s debut album] exists so wonderfully on its own gently rippling the airwaves with its peaceful presence. It has the power to both command a room and provide just the right amount of ambient noise that is essential to quiet nights at home.” - When the Gramophone Rings
