Nambucca Live presents: Naropa + Naked Six + SAP

May 18 @ 7:00 pm - May 19 @ 12:00 am

NAROPA: 9.45 - 10.15
Possessing poise and polish in abundance, Naropa are clever enough not to smooth away all the rough edges - their music still has a grit that suggests the scrappiness of
youth is best served bouncing around in dark, dingy basement clubs of ill repute” - Derek Robertson (Associate Editor for Drowned in Sound)

“There is no doubt that this new band from London have exceeding potential. Get on the bandwagon, before everyone else does” - Gigslutz

NAKED SIX: 9.00 - 9.30
Naked Six are a new unsigned 3-piece band based in York. Seb Byford (York) on guitar and lead vocals, Caleb Quaye (London) on bass guitar and Tom Witts (Brighton) on drums.
The band came together in 2015 writing their own brand of rock music bridging the gap between indie and hard rock. They describe themselves as rock/grunge/schizoid blues with a touch of psychedelic. They are playing shows up and down the country receiving some great reviews: “Naked Six provided a welcome contrast. Imagine a combination of Led Zeppelin and Cream and throw in a touch of Iggy Pop and AC/DC for a flavour of where they were coming from” “The three music students from York delivered a tight, energetic set.” “Their three recorded singles Let It Play, Devil in Disguise and Revolution were outstanding.” “We’ll be seeing more of these lads.” (Brighton Argus 25th January 2016).
A lot of people are getting excited about this band, who are combining the past with the future in their own unique style.

SAP: 8.15 - 8.45
One of the best new bands that this humble writer has had the pleasure of seeing at Nambucca in recent months. Think The Wytches and a more modern The Damned. An aural assault of the best kind. Deserve to be enormous. And maybe they will be.
